Summer holiday camps in Singapore can mean all the difference between sanity and point-blank deranged… for mama at least.
Whoever thought of giving kids a month (or more) off school, clearly hadn’t met my little cherub. If, like me, the thought of your offspring hanging around the apartment for weeks on end is enough to set your pulse racing, fear not, help is available. When it comes to summer holiday camps, Singapore really does have it all.
Whether your little one is destined to tread the boards on broadway, wants to converse in foreign tongues, aspires to become a superstar footballer, or is destined to become the next nobel laureate, there’s summer holiday camps on offer in Singers in June and July 2016 to suit all broods.

Summer Holiday Camps in Singapore 2016
Little Mandarin on Dempsey Road are offering a series of 5-day summer holiday camps that will allow children to practice their Mandarin speaking skills in a safe and encouraging environment. Workshops will involve role-play, games, art and craft as well as story telling and writing. Each week has a great theme, from Chinese rhythm and rhyme, through to farm animals and pets, so there should be something to appeal to everyone.

The Language Boutique is a highly respected language centre which often works closely with the international schools in Singapore as a preferred provider for extra tuition and they pride themselves on an ability to instil a love of learning in their students. This summer they are running a number of small group courses which will include some of the Language Boutique’s most popular courses, such as Fun with Phonics, Maths Madness and Reading Explorers. This June Math Arena will offer a range of Math and Science classes for children at the P3 – P5 age ranges. Children will have the chance to work on mock papers, learn problem-solving skills and get involved in interactive science experiments.

The J Carter Centre Public Speaking Holiday Workshop is designed to provide students aged from K2 to Pre-University 2 with a foundation in public speaking. I am Gifted are offering a five-day Life Transformation Programme, which includes a one day Mega Parenting and Learning Profiling Discovery session. ESPZEN Soccer School
ESPZEN Soccer School are offering their annual summer school football summer holiday camp for kids aged 6 to 12 years old. The camps will be taking place over a 12-week duration with a different theme each week. This year’s themes include “All Star Soccer”, “Play Like Brazil”, “Striker’s Master Class” and “Attack Like Premier League Stars.”

Little League provides football camps for children between 4-12 years of age during the school holidays. Their camps are held for three hours a day over four consecutive days. Throughout the 4-day camp, Little league’s professional coaches take the kids through all the components of the game, from dribbling and passing through to shooting goals. Kids are grouped according to age and ability and have an opportunity to develop their skills, build their confidence, and make new friends. This summer’s theme is superheroes and children of all ages are bound to enjoy this summer vacation. Kids will have over 200 different costumes to choose from before they set off on wheels to mix with the other superheroes as they speed around the park. The camp has sessions for all skating abilities, from beginners to advanced and experience professional instructors will be on hand to help out. The camp will be run in three locations: West Coast Park, East Coast Park and Bishan Park. Suitable for children aged 3 to 12 years old.

There will no specific Tennis Club Camp on offer from the Tennis Club this year. However, their Tennis Tots Group Classes will be running throughout the summer period. This program is designed to take the total tennis novice to the next level of performance. The club’s highly mini specialist teaches children at a young age by enhancing their listening and following skills, hand and eye coordination and develops their basic fundamental skills. However, amid all the serious stuff, there is some major fun to be had!

Shaw’s Little League
The Shaw’s Little League summer holiday camp aims to introduce children to a wide range of sports and activities while improving their confidence and co-ordination. The June summer programs will be run from their Kallang location over four-day periods.

The Open House
The Open Centre Camp is about fun, connection, self-awareness, and self-expression. Children and adolescents get a real life learning experience to practice their skills through interactions with others and learn to problem solving skills. The summer camp is based on social-emotional learning and secular mindfulness practice drawn from various programmes, tailored to meet the needs of our children and some of the activities – among the many – include Creative Arts, Brazilian Capoeira, Yoga, Horse Grooming/Riding, Pet Therapy and Fencing.

Every year, GIM runs their Annual Summer Camp throughout the month of July. The summer holiday camp packages are available on a weekly basis and avid gym goers can attend as many weeks as they like. The weekly schedule will follow a pattern of three outdoor trips and two in-house gymnastics training. In past years’ camps, outdoor activities have included a trip to the trampoline park, canopy walk, a game of outdoor Nerf gun, West Coast Park camp challenge and many more. There promises to be more exciting activities coming up this year.

Art, Craft and Other Fun Activities
Make Your Own Drive-in Theatre
The National Museum of Singapore will be running a make your own mini drive-in cinema featuring your family’s favourite movies and cartoons! Illustrate a scene together with your child and bring it to life on your movie screen. Take the opportunity to share memories of your favourite childhood or teenage hangouts and activities with your little ones too! The workshop is conducted by the Amazing Art Shuttle and is limited to the first 20 pairs of parent and child. Registration required on-site in advance.

Creative story telling
For something completely different, why not send your children to Camp Magic, who are offering a June and July holiday program that promises to wow. Children will have an opportunity to explore a different story each week through movement, drama, dance, song, circus, art, and craft. This year’s theme is Native America and the inspiring transformation myths. Each tale, from different tribes in the U.S., explores the interconnection of the story world with humans and animals.

Drama and Performing Arts
Centre Stage School of Arts run a summer holiday camp every year, and this year’s programme promises to be the best yet. Featuring a combination of creative drama, music and movement, dance and musical theatre programmes, there is something to appeal to even the fussiest kids.

Singapore Media Academy is a wholly owned subsidiary of Mediacorp, Singapore’s leading media company and they provide a chance for children to experience what it is like to be a reporter or a radio DJ with the chance to plan and present their own radio segment. Arthaus’ summer camp consists of a level base fine arts drawing and painting program (no craft) where all the participants of different skill levels work at their own learning pace on their own works of arts. As such, even though the summer camp is a curriculum based programme, it is very relaxed and allows children to learn and develop at their own level while having lots of fun in the process. NeuroCeramics is a programme developed by the Da Vinci Group which is inspired by the principles of Neuroscience and psychology. Village Day Camp at UWCSEA
There are a number of holiday camps being offered at both of UWCSEA’s campuses throughout the June, July and August holiday break. Camps offer age or ability sub-groups and include sports such as football (7-14 years), English and Mandarin language camp (7-14) and activity camp (four-14 years).
