Help your tots discover their love of reading and the fantastic imaginary worlds of books by taking them along to the 2015 398.2 Storytelling Festival.
The 398.2 Storytelling Festival is named after the Dewey library classification for folklore and fairytales, will be running between Saturday 28th November and Sunday the 29th November. It will offer two full days packed full of FREE events with:
– 20 award-winning and new storytellers from Singapore, Malaysia and Korea
– 44 interactive events with lots of audience participation
– stories told in 4 languages – English, Mandarin, Malay and Tam
– 2 great locations – National Library (Sat 28th Nov) and National Museum (Sun 29th Nov)
– 2 full days – from 11am to 5.30pm
The organisers are giving away some beautiful sets of finger puppets as part of the event. To bag yourself some of these hand-knitted treats, simply borrow four books between now and November from the 398.2 section in your local library – that’s where you’ll find Folktales, Fables and Fairytales! Keep the loan receipt(s) and present it on 28 Nov 2015 at the398.2 Redemption Booth (Level 5, National Library Building). Alternatively, you can ask for a voucher from a 398.2 Storyteller at one of their free storytelling sessions or workshops in the Singapore Writers Festival and bring the voucher to the Redemption Counter (Level 3, National Museum of Singapore) on the 29th November.
The event is targeted at kids who are aged between 4 to 12 years but there’s sure to be something on offer to pique the interest of mama and dada too.
